Musical Poetry

For Kelly....from U2

"One"

Is it getting better

Or do you feel the same

Will it make it easier on you now

You got someone to blame

You say...

One love

One life

When it's one need

In the night

One love

We get to share it

Leaves you baby if you

Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you

Or leave a bad taste in your mouth

You act like you never had love

And you want me to go without

Well it's...

Too late

Tonight

To drag the past out into the light

We're one, but we're not the same

We get to

Carry each other

Carry each other

One...

Have you come here for forgiveness

Have you come to raise the dead

Have you come here to play Jesus

To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much

More than a lot

You gave me nothing

Now it's all I got

We're one

But we're not the same

Well we

Hurt each other

Then we do it again

You say

Love is a temple

Love a higher law

Love is a temple

Love the higher law

You ask me to enter

But then you make me crawl

And I can't be holding on

To what you got

When all you got is hurt

One love

One blood

One life

You got to do what you should

One life

With each other

Sisters

Brothers

One life

But we're not the same

We get to

Carry each other

Carry each other

One...life

One

Okay.... I'm going to be honest here. I LOVE U2 and "One" is one of their best.... but I was not that taken with Adam's performance of it. He just changed it around a little too much for my liking. I much preferred his Aerosmith.

Kris's version of "Apologize" was okay, but he blew me away with the Kanye song! My favorite performance of the evening! (and yes, I'm a bit biased since he's a fellow Arkansan and my niece knows his wife personally)

Danny? I didn't like his first, but the second was okay.

All three are talented guys. At this point, though, talent doesn't matter. It's strictly a popularity contest. But as we've seen in the past, you certainly don't have to win to be successful, nor does winning guarantee success.

Tonight will be interesting (as will next week).

I love both versions of "One". For me they were like 2 different songs with the same lyrics.

I'm a HUGE Adam fan! Want him to win. Want Kris to come in second. Loved his Kanye song. Not so much the first round.

Really liked Danny's Cocker song but don't want him to win.

Adam is a natural and a born performer. I've been taken with him since day one.

Kris has come soooooooooooo far IMHO! I can see him in a band like Dave Matthews or REM, etc.

Adam in a born rocker! I'd love to see him do Rocky Horror! LOL!

Really, Kanye's song (Kris' version) was the best of the night.

I'm a big fan of this particular U2 song and thought all three of them had a great night. You're right... popularity.

Not as straight forward as Cook vs. Archuleta!
