She's Gone Where the Goblins Go

Goodbye politics... hello money!

I can live with the Palin who can appear Pat Buchanan-like or Greta Van Susteran-like on news shows, or give speeches wherever (Note to Sarah: please practice; the resignation speech was "rambling, incoherent and illogical") candidates need her political support. I breathe a sigh of relief for the family who was placed in the national spotlight, all their dysfunctional threads dangling. I sincerely hope she makes all the money she seems to need. That she's a quitter is no surprise. A narcissist? Of the highest order. I hope there is no "hidden political scandal or investigation" forthcoming, because, because, because, because, because....

We Have Had Enough of Sarah Palin

go quietly into that good night.....

We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. ~Tad Williams

The glory which is built upon a lie soon becomes a most unpleasant incumbrance. How easy it is to make people believe a lie, and how hard it is to undo that work again! ~Mark Twain

With lies you may get ahead in the world - but you can never go back. ~Russian proverb

If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. ~Mark Twain

There is no well-defined boundary between honesty and dishonesty. The frontiers of one blend with the outside limits of the other, and he who attempts to tread this dangerous ground may be sometimes in one domain and sometimes in the other. ~O. Henry

Honesty pays, but it don't seem to pay enough to suit some people. ~Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard

Some people will not tolerate such emotional honesty in communication. They would rather defend their dishonesty on the grounds that it might hurt others. Therefore, having rationalized their phoniness into nobility, they settle for superficial relationships. ~Author Unknown

Because of the wonderful things she does????? That can't be right.

Granted, she's not the sharpest knife in the box, but could she be THAT stupid to think this is the best way to achieve higher political ambitions, when it's the WORST way?? Something screams, something's wrong with this picture! True reason to follow!

Donna - money. That's reason enough.

Yeah, I doubt the Palins will be needing public assistance anytime soon.

I've always admired Sarah Palin and I wish her success, happiness and blessings---the very same things I'd wish to any of you if you changed careers.

I seldom give my opinion politically, though, because so many people get rabid & foam at the mouth and attack me and I just can't handle that. I have quite a few friends who feel the same as I do, but we keep quiet. But I really do wish her and her family well.

Let's just hope she's gone for good.

I know one thing....if Palin and Huckleby are my only real Republican choices in the next Presidential election, I'll just have to vote for Obama.

Palin and Sandford are a toss up as to the most disjointed and egocentric new conferences I've seen in a long time.

They both are in need of the old "hook" to help them off the stage.

I don't even want to think about the next presidential election yet!! But, based on his performance so far, I wouldn't vote for Obama. He seems like a nice person, but I still don't like his politics.
Depending on the Republican candidate, I might have to vote third party.

Or fourth party, or fifth party... the way things are going!

I'm not seeing it, Quid. I'm not seeing money as her main motivator behind this decision. (Unless you're talking about not spending more money on defending ethics complaints.)

But making money? Maybe I'm not seeing it as her motivator because I'm not seeing her accomplish it. Understand, I'm not wishing that on her. I wish her ALL that she wants. I'm just not seeing money generating for her from this move, that's all.

For better or for worse, I think she can kiss her political career goodbye. Which is fine with me, because I've been thoroughly tired of her since suffering through perhaps her third or fourth speech on the campaign trail.

OMG! I did NOT just read this -

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- No legal "bombshell" or personal scandal lies behind Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's resignation, but off-color jokes by talk-show host David Letterman contributed to her decision to step down, Palin's attorney said Monday.

Let me see if I have this straight, she's stepping down for a "higher calling" because she's not tough enough to tolerate what a comedian said and apologized to her for, not to mention the misunderstanding? Well, obviously higher politics is out, so is commentating, writing a book ... come to think of it, just plain being in the public eye.

She needs to go into dairy farming! She'll milk anything.

It is time for her to go. Her magic carpet was beginning to unravel...

Good lead, Deb!

Donna - as Letterman said..."was it something I said?"
