Gone but not forgotten

Andrea moved away from Florida once before, at the age of 19, to elope. It didn't last long, but for the first few years she came back, she was still a wild child. Tonight she's living in Louisville and I will be lonely without her. In the last three years she's directed her life, found a career, learned to be independent, and then finally reunited with someone that will be good to her and good for her.

It was a melodramatic leaving...everything that could go wrong about the move did, but when they called yesterday from the Panhandle, they had overcome all the stress and were starting on the adventure. Christian called to report they had completed their first domestic partner grocery shopping trip.

This, like my own move from home at the age of 25, is a necessary rite of passage, to become the adults they're meant to be. But it feels like a loss to me. Bearable, yes. Hard to get over? You bet.

I'm so happy for Andrea. I know she'll do good. I still miss my baby girl way off in Chattanooga. I haven't gotten over it yet and it's been 4 years since they left Shreveport. LOL! I'm hoping they'll end up closer to us soon. Blessings!

I know how traumatic this must be for you. Sure, I know it's time and it's positive and all for the best...but.... I know it's hard for you.

It's never easy to let the chicks leave the nest. But, I'm sure she knows that you are there for her and she does know the way back home to Mom. :)

Thinking of you, my dear friend!

I know it's hard, but that's what we raise them to do.... to head off on their own and thrive.

I'll be thinking of you and saying some prayers.

Quid,

I know how very tough this is for you. But as you and the ladies have already said,
Andrea has to go her own way.

Know, that you are in my thoughts and I would like to continue to wish Andrea well.
